Documentary making Internships

 

This is a very exiting year for Hydro Motion Media, we are thrilled to be able to offer you the opportunity to apply for our documentary making internship. This is a unique placement where you will recieve hands on training and actual experience in the production of documentary.

 

The internship will teach you underwater videography, post production techniques and editing. Provide you with equipment and expertise to teach you specially developed filming techniques and result in a portfolio of work and new skills. As a HMM Intern you have the chance to become a part of our production team, directly contributing to our documentaries.

 

Hydro Motion Media are producing a series of 12 short films of different UK species for the Royal Society of Wildlife Trusts over May, June and July 2016 working alonside the Cornwall Wildlife Trust. These films are being published by RSWT to raise awareness in the build up to national marine week where the films will be finally screened as one.

 

Our internship programme has been designed around the production of these films and provides the chance for you to become directly involved in a national publication of UK marinelife documentary via the RSWT, a unique opportunity to gain expereince in this field - unavailable elsewhere!

 

 

 

 

The Internship

 

Duration : 3 Months

 

Cost : Project and individual basis

 

Prerequisites for Application : Open Water SCUBA Diver certification - PADI or Equivalent. Medical certification for fitness to dive. Expereince in diving/media/photography/conservation prefered. Must be able to commit to at least 4 days work a week. Personal Dive Insurance for the period.

 

Equipment required for application : Own set of Dive Equipment. Laptop. Interns will be expected to be living in the Perranporth/Newquay area or prepared to move there.

 

Included in placement : Use of underwater camera equipment during placement. Transportation to filming locations. Training in practical underwater videography.

Post production and Industry standard editing workshops. Editing software.

Direct contribution to Hydro Motion Media Documentary - Published via RSWT and CWT.

A Portfolio of own Work. Opportunity to become involved in future projects and progression as HMM moves forward.

 

Not Included in placement : Accomodation. Food. Personal transportation to and from HMM base. Personal expenses.

Please include your qualifications and diving experience, current occupation and availablity. Due to the limited number of places please only apply if you can commit to the 4 day a week schedule. If you dont meet all the criteria above, for example dont own your own dive kit, but really feel passionately about applying, please get in touch, we will consider each candidate on an individual basis.
